Prescint Assess™
is a highly-concentrated market opportunity assessment focused primarily on the U.S. Government Defense, Intelligence, and Homeland Security (DI&HS) market. The target customers for Prescint Assess are foreign or domestic Technology Companies seeking to discern the opportunity for their commercial product(s) within the DI&HS market.
To deliver this, Prescint subcontracts to some of the leading technology experts in our industry and conducts direct meetings with numerous prospective Federal Government prospects. Approximately 90 to 120 days from contract start, we deliver a comprehensive report and plan of action, and we do so for a fraction of the cost of the leading government consulting firms. Most importantly, if the results are positive we can offer our clients a market entry solution that is both fast and affordable.
Prescint Assess™
is the tool that we rely upon to determine if a Commercial Technology Company has what it takes to be successful in the U.S. Government DI&HS Market. To begin, we require the interested company to participate in an evaluation process and webinar, where Prescint and our partners will make an initial determination whether or not we believe that an assessment will lead to a successful outcome. If the result of this review is positive, we provide the company with a Prescint Assess™
proposal.
Typically the outcome of the Prescint Assess™ process falls into one of the following categories:
- How can I buy this? - This is the best outcome. This means that there is not only a governmental interest but also a desire to place an order for the product without modification. Prescint can help you develop an approach to address any potential FOCI (foreign ownership or control), government procurement, security clearance or technical support issues as quickly as possible, enabling your company to close that first sale!
- Good Opportunity - This means that of the numerous customers that we met with, one or more were interested enough to be willing to sponsor a pilot. A government-funded test and evaluation of a new product or technology is a strong indication of both need and interest.
- Good Opportunity, if you modify the product - This is not an uncommon outcome. The U.S. Government DI&HS community has unique security and interoperability requirements that products must meet in order to be used in mission-critical systems. The good news is that this is not the end of the road but rather just the beginning. Prescint can help you understand those requirements and develop a cost effective strategy to modify your product to meet the needs of this market.
- Limited Opportunity - Occasionally, the result of the assessment is not positive. Not every product or technology has an eventual home in this market. This can be the result of a number of factors, such as the existence of a government-developed and supported solution already in the market, or an entrenched competitor with better pricing and performance characteristics. It also can be a matter of the technology not being adaptable to the client's needs due to its commercial market orientation. While not the desired result, knowing this in three months is certainly preferable to spending hundreds of thousands of dollars reaching this same conclusion over a year from now ( as many companies have).
